Commemoration and Exhibition of Works of Farrokh Esalat
Institute of Architectural Engineers of Tehran University, Stavandsaz Consulting Engineers and Hasht Architecture Office presents.
The Association of Architectural Engineers of Tehran University introduced the works of the former professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts, "Farrokh Esalat", and reviewed and recognized the designs of him and his colleagues (consulting engineers of Arata), especially between the years 1348 and 1358. The exhibition of works and projects was opened on Thursday, May 12th, 2019, coinciding with the honoring of the teacher, at the "House of City and Architecture Discourse (Vartan House)" and continued with a seminar.
The speakers of this program were Dr. Ali Asghar Saidi, one of the well-known sociologists in the field of economics, as well as Dr. Sirous Bavar, an architect-teacher, former professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and with the audiences from the disciplines of architecture, sociology, art, etc. Forties and Fifties, from which the economic, social and cultural prosperity of contemporary Iran is called, until the prosperity of the oil years and the integration of economy and art. Reminding of cultural developments and the educational program of the Faculty of Fine Arts was also one of the parts of the speech.
The program was held by Eng.Afshin Ekhlaspour, a member of the board of directors of the 7th term of the Kanoon, with excerpts from the importance of the scientific role of the Tehran University Architects' Engineers' Center to promote architecture in sync with the mother university.
The film "Authenticity of Houses and Factories" tells about the expansion of modernity and contemporary modernity and the connection between the cultural space and contemporary art with Farrokh's original works, which was shown at the end of the program along with his words today about Iranian architecture and their message. This film was prepared and edited by Hasht Architects and planned and designed under the supervision of eng.Ekhlaspour.
The exhibition of Farrokh Esalat's works continued until Sunday, May 15 at the Vartan House.
biography:
Farrokh Asalt was born on January 25, 1945 (1323 solar) in Tehran and studied at Manochehri School in Tehran from 1951 to 1957. Then he left the country and from 1957 to 1962 he studied at Pierpont School in Surrey, England. He received his bachelor's degree in 1965 and his master's degree in architecture in 1967. His last two degrees are from University College London, UCL. He also passed the Professional Expertise Examination and became a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Architects, RIBA. He joined the University of Tehran in 1969 and among his positions was assistant professor of architecture in the Faculty of Fine Arts (1969-70) and head of the Department of Studies and Research (1971-74) and became an associate professor in 1974. He was a member of the faculty of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Research Committee of the Faculty of Architecture, the Recruitment Committee of Tehran University, the director of architecture courses and the director of the publishing department of this university.
