GENOME RESIDENCE
Tehran | 2017
The project was located in the eastern region of Tehran. The Terrain is surrounded by 4 streets in the form of an island and a residential, office and commercial building was supposed to be built on floors. Most of the buildings in the area were from the 70s or 80s. Although the location of the project seemed very attractive, but the main concern of the design was how this building can be an indicator while being contextual. And secondly, how can different uses be placed in one building without conflicting interests.
And secondly, how can different uses be placed in one building without conflicting interests. We started the design process by looking at Gestalt philosophy. So, we considered the dominant form in residential buildings in the region as a background and tried to consider the second layer as a contemporary and dynamic entity on top of it. As a result, from the superimposition of the background and the background on each other and the common dialogue between the two, we reached a multifaceted structure that could be a dialectic between stillness and dynamism. A new genome that can respond to the different needs of its residents and present the body of the building in different aspects with a common and interconnected language. In the following, by injecting the resulting DNA into the spaces, we tried to produce diverse spaces in terms of fluidity and quality of the space and connect the inside and the outside.
